Yisrayl Hawkins Arrested, and neighbor Talk! KTXS NEWS Hawkins indicted, neighbors talk
KTXS NEWS Hawkins facing new charges ABILENE -- More charges have been filed against Yisrayl Hawkins, the leader of the House of Yahweh religious sect. Callahan County authorities say that up to forty children are working various jobs at the sects compound. That, according to Callahan County D-A Shane Deel, is a misdemeanor. Deel says authorities witnessed children working in the compounds cafe, and tending crops in the field instead of going to school. There are state and federal laws that govern when and how long a child 15 or under can work. Hawkins remains in the Taylor County jail on four counts of bigamy. KTXS NEWS Yahweh founder Hawkins charged with bigamy ABILENE -- The founder of the House of Yahweh religious sect remains in the Taylor County Jail, charged with four counts of bigamy. Bond for Yisrayl Hawkins is set at 10 million dollars after his arrest Tuesday in Callahan County. The House of Yahweh is an Old Testament-based group with a 50-acre development near Clyde.
